InfoMAN is a utility that reports information on the Macintosh it is being run on. InfoMAN acts as a window through to the Gestalt Manager, a part of the System Software that is used to tell applications what exactly the system has hardware and software-wise. Unlike other information programs, InfoMAN returns ALL that was available through the Gestalt Manager at its release, which permits you to find out obscure bits of information about your Macintosh (i.e. how much RAM is available after the on-board video cards takes its allotment, whether your Mac supports stereo, whether the GPI is connected to the DCD on port A, and so on).
InfoMAN lets you browse through a list of "topics" it can tell you information about, and tells you, in plain English, what the configuration is for that topic - not a bunch of 1s and 0s or a big, useless number other utilities return.
InfoMAN can be expanded - instrutions are included - to account for the ever-growing complexity of system software. These expansions can easily take advantage of all of InfoMAN's capabilities - no code required.

InfoMAN IS •NOT• 32-BIT CLEAN. This is a problem with the programming software InfoMAN was written in. Set your computer to 24-bit mode before running InfoMAN.
InfoMAN is probably not compatible with the MC68040's caches (because our programming software is usually not compatible with new technology). We recommend you disable the caches before running InfoMAN.
InfoMAN should run on all Macintosh computers. System 6.0.4 or greater is required.
